“I am sorry to have wearied you with so long a letter but I did not have time to write you a short one.” ~17th c. French philosopher & mathematician, Blaise Pascale
Now, read the quote again and instead of letter, think: blog post.
Resolve to spend as much time editing your blog posts as you do writing them. If you only have an hour to write, a full 30 minutes should be devoted to pruning the first draft down so that it contains only what is needed to make your point. Make every word work – hard.
Adopting this discipline may cause your posts to become ridiculously short and incredibly pithy. And your audience will love you for it.
Assignment: Purchase and read this book by William Zinsser, “On Writing Well.”
